About the Role
Are you interested in working at the intersection of statistical/mathematical/economic modeling, engineering, and scalable data computation? Do you have an interest in developing and applying quantitative scalable solutions related to Uber's global challenges? If so, then this is the job for you.

What you'll need
* Foundational depth in statistical inference and modeling, sampling and bias correction, supervised ML/econometrics modeling, or other quantitative fields.
* Proficient programming and data skills. Python/R, SQL/Hive required. Experience with Pyspark or other programming tools is a plus.
* Familiarity with internet product development cycle. Rich collaboration experience with engineering and product management functions is a plus.
* Advanced degrees in one of the quantitative fields preferred (Mathematics / Statistics / Operation Research / Econometrics / Computer Science Machine Learning, or other fields with quantitative focus).
About the Team:
This team focuses on improving Uber network efficiency and relative position in the category with better data and algorithms. The challenging problems include benchmarking Uber's position in the category, modeling the complex market-level dynamics, rider and driver choices, cross-service decision across rides/eats/bikes, fine-tuning Uber's pricing with data/algorithms from this team etc. The data scientists on the team leverage massive amount of Uber internal and external data to address these challenges, build scalable solutions with engineering,
We are looking for people passionate about solving the challenging business/product issues with well-trained science/engineering expertise; enthusiastic about seeking the truth via deep diving into the complicated structured and unstructured data. The expertise we are seeking ranges from statistical modeling (sampling/inference/ ML modeling), to economic modeling and optimization (econometrics/causal inference/optimization), to transportation engineering/simulation.
