About the Role

We need an experienced IC who understands building products, servicing business goals, and implementing state of the art supply-side Economics concepts to help us build a coordinated driver pricing ecosystem that generates enormous profit for Uber and exceptional peace of mind for drivers.

What You'll Do (sample projects):

* Re-design the DxGy incentive structure to emphasize subsidies that are efficient in both the long and short term
* Build an experimental technique that analyzes the long term impacts of drivers' experience of a product
* Design a platform to understand the key components of drivers relocation decisions
* Construct an algorithm that allows drivers to choose elements of their own pricing structure while pricing them in an incentive compatible way
* Build and test a new incentive structure that satisfies existing marketplace needs better than the existing tools

About the Team

The Driver Pricing team is responsible for pricing each component of the existing driver experience. This spans from: (1) designing base fare components that align driver reward with effort, (2) to designing and targeting incentive structures that make driving, and driving specifically with Uber, highly attractive while targeting eventual profitability for Uber (3) to designing real-time pricing algorithms that cost effectively elicit Marketplace improving driver choices. In 2018, Driver Pricing's algorithms will allocate >$1Bn in payments to drivers while representing one of the most important interactions between Uber and drivers, making it an incredibly high leverage opportunity to help Uber and our partners.
