Work you'll do:

Deloitte Global currently has a Data Scientist opportunity available. We are looking for a data scientist that will help us discover the information hidden in vast amounts of data and help us make smarter decisions to deliver even better products. Your primary focus will be in applying data mining techniques, doing statistical analysis, and building high quality prediction systems integrated with our product.

Who you'll work with:

As an integral member of Global Technology Services organization, the Data Scientist (Sr. Engineer) will be responsible for developing and managing global products for Deloitte's Global Analytics Studio. You will provide technical direction for project delivery to address business needs.

To be considered for this role, there are certain qualifications you'll have to have. And others that would be really, really nice.

Required:

* Working experience with statistical analysis and modelling


* Working experience with predictive modeling and simulation techniques


* Ability to query and mine large data sets to discover transaction patterns, examine data and isolate targeted information - using traditional as well as predictive/advanced analytic methodologies


* Working experience with machine learning algorithms and platforms such as AzureML or MLLib or Mahout, etc.


* Strong skills in presenting and facilitating


* Strong skills in influencing, diplomacy, negotiation and consensus building


* Good attention to detail and accuracy


* Manage multiple goals and deadlines



Preferred:

* Experience with Natural Language Processing (NLP) family of techniques and algorithms.
* Knowledge of at least 2 of the following: SAS, SPSS, MATLAB, R, Python
* Working experience with Hadoop, HBase, Hive or MapReduce or Spark
* Experience in database design, development with advanced proficiency in SQL


* Experience with unstructured text analytics


* Experience with NoSQL technologies, such as MongoDB



Education and experience:

* Master's or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering or other relevant fields to data science
