Mayvenn started with a box of hair in the trunk of our founder's Toyota Corolla. It has now grown into a nationwide movement of over 50,000 stylists, hundreds of thousands of customers, and millions of dollars invested back into salons in our neighborhoods. We created the Mayvenn platform so that the salons and hairstylists in our community could be the retailers of their customers' beauty products, allowing their customers to shop in a dignified way, while receiving the best products and service for their hard-earned money.

Mayvenn is looking for a Data Scientist to join our data team! As a Data Scientist at Mayvenn, you will help maintain Mayvenn's data driven culture by exploring the data for insights, designing and analyzing A/B tests, and servicing ad-hoc requests. We have a small tech team of curious, passionate individuals that value experimentation and iteration, but most importantly collaboration. Responsibilities

* Mine and analyze data to drive optimizations in product development, marketing techniques and business strategies.
* Use predictive modeling to enhance customer experiences and improve our ability to effectively communicate with our customers
* Help manage SQL based data transformation using Amazon data pipeline
* Work with all departments to ensure decisions and experiments are data driven
* Design, analyze, and preset A/B tests for product improvement
* Foster a data culture throughout Mayvenn through a metrics-driven mindset, education, and self-service analytics
* Use a variety of tools (Looker, Google Analytics, etc) and a variety of data sets to form a holistic view of user behavior

Qualifications

* Expert SQL capabilities. You feel comfortable generating cohort data, LTVs, and other often-tricky time based data.
* Strong spreadsheet skills for data crunching and exploration
* Experience with R and/or Python
* Background analyzing user behavior and turning findings into action items
* Familiarity with BI tools such as Looker or Tableau
* Curious and self-driven
* Comfortable being highly collaborative and working in small teams
* Some programming experience a plus
* Experience with eCommerce a plus
