POSITION SUMMARY

Aetna's Provider & Network Analytics teamis focused on delivering impactful programs and tools to effectively partnerwith healthcare providers, in order to help members across all life stages feelthe joy of achieving their best health.

The team is looking for a Data Scientist who can solvecomplex analytical problems and develop, validate and deliver machine learning andstatistical models.

Fundamental Components:

* Use strong knowledge in machine learning, predictive modeling andstatistics to investigate problems, detect patterns and recommend solutions.
* Develops and/or uses algorithms and statistical models anddetermines analytical approaches and modeling techniques to evaluate scenariosand potential future outcomes.
* Use strong programming skills to explore, examine and interpretlarge volumes of data in various forms.
* Performs analyses of structured and unstructured data to solvemultiple and/or complex business problems utilizing advanced statisticaltechniques and mathematical analyses and broad knowledge of the organizationand/or industry.
* Collaborates with business partners to understand their problemsand goals, develop predictive modeling, statistical analysis, data reports andperformance metrics.
* Develops and participates in presentations and consultations toexisting and prospective constituents on analytics results and solutions.
* Interacts with internal and external peers and managers toexchange complex information related to areas of specialization.

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired:

* 2 or more years of progressively complex analytics experience.
* Experience with scripting languages (e.g., R, Python) anddatabase languages (e.g., SQL)
* Demonstrates proficiency in most areas of machine learning,statistical analyses, predictive modeling and mathematical analysis methods,with in-depth specialization in some areas.
* Strong knowledge of advanced analytics tools and languages toanalyze large data sets from multiple data sources.
* Anticipates and prevents problems and roadblocks before theyoccur.
* Demonstrates strong ability to communicate technical conceptsand implications to business partners.
* Education or background in Computer Science, Applied Math, Computational biology, Engineering, Statistics,Operations Research, Bioinformatics, or any related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.

EDUCATION

Bachelors degree required, Masters a plus.
