Job Description

ASRC Federal Vistronix is actively seeking a Data Quality Specialist to join our team and support analysis efforts for a government client in Denver, Colorado.

RESPONSIBILTIES:

The successful candidate will facilitate the documentation, analysis, and quality baselines for application and program data for complex government software systems. The ability to work with both technical and non-technical audiences is very important, so having a solid understanding of the software development process is key. Principal responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

* Research and document program data quality issues, including incorrect, redundant, and missing data.
* Make recommendations for best practices the lead to overall improvements in data quality.
* Recommend, implement, and assist with data migration efforts across the application portfolio to ensure maximum data reliability post migration.
* Assist in the compilation of federated geospatial datasets within the application portfolio.
* Coordinate data quality standards across multiple systems.
* Assist with data entry/editing of legacy solutions to meet minimal data quality standards.
* Developing conceptual and logical data models to help define business requirements.

Key Technologies:

* Databases -- MS SQL Server, Oracle, Informix, MySQL
* Tools -- Erwin, SQL Server Management Studio
* Virtualizations -- VMWare, Oracle VM Manager (OVM)

REQUIREMENTS:

Education and Experience:

* Bachelor's degree -- Computer Science or Technical degree preferred
* At least 6 years' experience as a data administrator, analyst, architect or similar
* At least 8 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a specific degree would be acceptable, especially if the experience is multi-functional (i.e., operations and development)

Required Skills and Competencies:

* Demonstrated proficiency in SQL Server 2012 (or higher).
* At least 2-years' experience with Oracle Enterprise Edition 11g (or higher).
* A working knowledge of other database platforms (Informix and MySQL preferred).
* Ability to analyze data structure and contents using tools and scripts (Erwin experience preferred). Ability to plan for and execute data quality plans.
* Communicate complex information clearly using tools such as Word, Excel, and Visio. Ability to write and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), best-practice guides, and other supporting documentation.
* Ability to use a variety of software tools for managing requirements, creating diagrams and written documents to communicate with a variety of stakeholders; both technical and non-technical.

Desired Skills:

* Experience using Erwin data modeling software highly desired.
* Recent experience supporting live production databases
* Knowledge of SQL Server Analysis/Integration/Reporting Services
* Experience with database performance monitoring, tuning, and error resolution
* Experience supporting spatial databases (Esri ArcSDE preferred)
* Recent database certifications desired
* Experience working in an ITIL environment (ITIL v3 certification highly desired)
