Sony Electronics is seeking a Data Operations Specialist to join the Direct-to-Consumer Marketing Team in San Diego, CA. The ideal candidate will have a passion for all things data-related to move Sony Electronics to a real-time marketing organization. The Data Operations Specialist will guide the organization on leveraging the newest tools and technologies to facilitate better communication strategies with our customers.

During the first year, the primary responsibility of this role will be to coordinate the migration of our data to a data lake, leveraging AWS Services. As the new platform is up and running the role will be at the forefront of onboarding new data sources, understanding how to connect data to and use data in marketing technology ecosystems, moving Sony Electronics closer to real-time marketing. In order to achieve this grand vision we are looking for someone with solid data analysis skills who can also coordinate with various stakeholders to ensure the new platform is implemented in a way that enables the success of the business.

Responsibilities:

* Own Sony's customer database and background information, structure and design, new integrations
* Own the vendor management, procurement, legal, billing elements of Sony's relationship with external database providers
* Serve as Sony project team lead for migration of Sony's data to AWS Data environment
* Approving architecture, migration management of all existing and upcoming data ETLs and API integrations, establish common code usage for all ETL/API integrations and version control


* Requirements gathering and validation
* Establish new data feeds and integrations into AWS Data Lake
* Maintain business requirements documentation
* Monitor and address issues related to database health and performance,
* Provide reporting and background information on all aspects of the database
* Data Visualization Repository management and dashboard build support
* Perform descriptive statistics and basic data analysis and turning insights into recommendation

Skills & Qualifications:

* Bachelor's Degree in business and/or quantitative fields preferred
* Desire to learn and establish new AWS services and data patterns
* Knowledge of AWS services and capabilities preferred
* Working knowledge of APIs and JSON
* Quickly prototype new API integrations to demonstrate value and refine requirements before handing off to Data Engineering for implementation
* Working knowledge of user access management within Tableau Server
* Ability to support end users with dashboard usage and provide high-level training
* Identify anomalous data that could signify errors in automated data flows
* Produce health and status reports of the data environment
* Advanced experience with SQL, Alteryx, and Excel
* Knowledge of Python, AWS optimized file formats (parquet), Tableau, Power BI
* Knowledge of Salesforce marketing suite applications
* Proven ability to translate business needs into the technical requirements
* Excels in fast-paced team environment
