Job Description

Overview

The Data Governance Solution Architect will understand key principles of data management and stewardship, organize and manage data assets and their related data policies and business rules, and create a central location for creating, storing, and managing these items. You will work closely with business users to understand their data requirements and the analytic insights they need to make data-driven decisions.

As a Data Governance Solution Architect, you will work within LMI's Advanced Analytics service line to facilitate the successful implementation of data governance platforms, such as Collibra, with our customers and share data governance best practices. You will work with solution architects, data owners, data stewards, policy developers, process and workflow analysts, data scientists, and business analysts to design and implement data governance platforms.

Responsibilities

The Data Governance Solution Architect will

* analyze the current state of the data architectures of various systems - software components, technologies, data models and business processes;
* incorporate data policies and metadata into data governance platforms, such as Collibra's data governance platform;
* create data governance models, including assets, relationships, domains, and communities;
* create future-state application data architectures;
* define workflow, security and integration requirements and dashboard and reporting requirements;
* generate data management artifacts - data models, diagrams, ETL source-to-target mappings, data dictionaries, data flow diagrams, and test use cases;
* integrate data governance repositories with data management platforms to automate data governance processes (i.e., metadata capturing, lineage, and proactive data quality)
* propose and enforce data management best practices, data standards, and data management policies and rules across different functional areas of an organization; and
* document case studies and create solution templates that will accelerate future implementations.

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in computer science, management of technology, computer engineering, or a related field
* An understanding of data governance frameworks
* Experience with enterprise data management solutions and platforms in the areas of master data management (MDM), data quality management, data governance, metadata management, ETL, data warehousing, and data lakes
* Experience with data modeling (conceptual, logical, and physical) and a strong knowledge of relational databases, SQL, and columnar databases
* Experience with Big Data solutions using technologies such as Hadoop, Cloudera, Spark, Python, NoSQL, or Cassandra
* Awareness of cloud services (preferably AWS)
* Ability to analyze complex data and communicate data governance concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, including the organization and prioritization of tasks to meet deadlines and organizational goals
* Excellent interpersonal skills, accountability, written and verbal communication skills and time management
* Active DoD Secret Clearance required
