Denton is the largest ESAB manufacturing site in North America. It is home to high volume wear parts for razor-razor blade model Welding and cutting tips i.e. Velocity. The site also produces high volume components for Hermosillo final assembly and takes claim for the HPI configurator line. Another unique product for Denton is the special guns and cutting torches that span across multiple product lines. Exothermic final assembly products are also manufactures in Denton. Denton's newly added, distribution center services many key customers such as Airgas, Praxair, Matheson and independents along with contractors, oil and gas, and construction. Denton is also unique for being ESAB's Center of Excellence as our key functions are located in this facility. Some key attributes are local Research & Development for innovation, a major distribution center for US and global sales on Accessories & Adjacency products, the North America and international customer care support and a shared service center for North America. The Denton location employees approximately 545 full time and temporary associates with an average length of employment of over 11 years!

Summary

ESAB is currently looking for an experienced data engineer that can easily migrate MS Access, DB2, DAX, and VBA procedures to a SQL Server environment. We currently use a myriad of applications and platforms to analyze big data and operational data alike, so our ideal candidate will perform large transitions of data to an on-prem or Azure environment, perform analysis on descriptive analytic components key to the ESAB organization, follow and implement specifications designed by the operational teams, and design database flows that can be easily converted from a backend-to-frontend application. Candidate must have a strong understanding of ERP systems (such as SAP, Avante, JDE, AS400 based systems) and MRP best practice knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

* Transition structured and unstructured data to SQL Server using SSIS, stored procedures, and other ETL processes.
* Work with IT, our EDW team, our BI team, Operations, and Finance to create meaningful datasets easily accessible through MS products.
* Seek out data responsible for the day to day operations and find root causes, displaying correlation and causation in a meaningful and repeatable manner.
* Help in the design, implementation, verification, debugging, optimizing and maintenance of SQL Server database objects (database design, table design, index creation, stored procedures, views, functions, scripts, etc.) and processes for the application, reporting and interface modules.
* Document all processes associated with the ETL process, producing technical documentation and storing on the OpenOne quality system.
* Deposit front end applications in a SharePoint environment (storage only) to allow users easy access to data designs.
* Mentor and provide proactive technical oversight, advice development teams fostering re-use, design for scale, stability, and operational efficiency of data/analytical solutions.
* Apply business rules to transformed data to provide real time KPIs and analyses for upper management
* Develop datasets that are easily retrievable, actionable, and meaningful to all associate levels in the ESAB organization

Skills/Qualifications

* 3+ years SQL Server experience writing stored procedures, developing stored functions, and applying ETL across platforms required
* 3+ years MS Access experience writing queries, using VBA and built in functions, and transforming data types required
* 3+ years Excel experience preferred
* Power BI, DAX, Power Pivot experience preferred
* SAP Experience preferred
* MRP Experience in a manufacturing environment containing a large inventory profile a plus

Education / Certifications

* Bachelor's degree in IT, Business Analytics, Supply Chain Management or related
* 3 years minimum experience in a professional working environment
* Six Sigma certification a plus
* APICS certifications a plus

Work Environment:

While performing the primary duties of the job, the employee is regularly exposed to general office and manufacturing plant environments. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers and photocopiers, small products and parts. This is a full-time position, however, work outside normal business hours may occur.
