Data Engineer / Python Developer

Job Description

Our team is looking for a Data Engineer / Python Developer to develop new and improve existing software critical to TMG's mission. You'll work with emerging technologies to simplify and solve data flows across the firm.

Responsibilities

* Design and develop critical components that involve our Data Warehouse system
* Maintain an ecosystem of data-driven applications and microservices, using modern technologies such as Python3, SQL, NGINX, and docker, java script
* Build scalable and performing software with the latest technologies
* Work closely with team members and contribute to the interface design with end-users cross company throughout the process
* Projects range from web-scraping, ETL, data visualization tools, and automating trade captures, to various calc engines wrapped in a micro-services architecture

Desired Skills and Experience

* Proficiency in programming languages, particularly Python (Pandas is a plus)
* Unix scripting experience and ability to navigate the command line (bash, linux commands, etc)
* Containerization experience (docker)
* Familiarity with databases and manipulating data with SQL
* Experience with some of the following areas: MQ / TCP middleware, Cloud Platform Development, Networking, and/or REST Service Development
* High level of self-discipline and attention to detail in adhering to operating procedures and risk controls
* Ability to communicate clearly, work well, and develop relationships with teammates as well as members of other departments
* A bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, computer science, information systems, or related field
* 0-2 years experience
