Job Description

The Data Architect (DA) is a senior level position that leverages data management, storage, and usage principles and technical knowledge to promote leverage of the Client's data asset. The objective is to make sure that all applicable application modules and users have access to the data in a secure and easily accessed manner. The Data Architect has broad knowledge of data flow, business data mapping processes, data transformation, master data management, and other data management issues that track data from creation in transactional systems and follows it through application and analytical uses. The DA articulates data management and architectures principles and provides technical consulting to support product engineering, client sales, and professional and managed services data activities. The DA establishes or enhances both product and customer data management practices. The DA will be expected to keep up with industry trends in data management and leading industry tools and techniques. In addition, the DA plays an active role in evaluating data management practices and making and overseeing product data management improvement activities.

Work you'll do:

* Understand both client and Deloitte product data management environments and position prioritized improvement recommendations.
* Collaborate with the Solution Architects and Product Data Architects to position and implement improvements in Data Architecture.
* Ability and experience designing data solutions with data flexibility, ease of data reuse, data integrity, data security, and data quality built in
* Experience with data solution features to address reliability, availability, usability, security, and data integration
* Experience addressing data backup, recovery, and data retirement strategies
* Experience prioritizing data importance, identifying master data, data volumes and characteristics, and most typical data uses (across business functions or more restricted uses) Experience managing legal and compliance data requirements
* Experience creating and following data management standards
* Create or improve data architecture and data management principle for both Product development teams and Professional Services teams.
* Assisting with project and opportunity qualification utilizing knowledge of industry data models, leading practices, data transformation and data volumes estimating techniques, data security issues for the various types of solutions and applying this knowledge to determine applicability to Deloitte's offerings.
* Understanding, documenting, and articulating current data architecture and assessing areas for improvement.
* Understanding data needs assessments and data mapping from either data source systems or downstream application for Deloitte's products and defining data integration solutions and approaches
* Demonstrating experience in solving Data Management issues and problems.
* Being a trusted advisor to the customer's decision-makers by establishing credibility and expertise in data management.
* Identifying new data leverage opportunities that will lead to additional ROI for Deloitte and Deloitte's clients.
* Participating in PS engagements and product reviews as a DA SME.
* Scoping and writing SOW sections related to data architecture & management tasks.
* Timely, accurate administration & reporting (Swift, expenses, forecasts, etc.)
* Contributing Knowledge Assets related to data architecture and management.

Required:

* 7 years or more of data architecture & data management experience
* Client interface and consulting skills required
* Knowledge of industry tools and leading data architecture practices
* Learning Agility to stay current with new products and new product releases
* Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future

Experience with solutions:

* Proven capabilities in with data mapping, modeling, and management tools
* Solid understanding of current data storage and sharing technologies & topics
* BA or BS in Information Management, Business or Computer Science
* Experience designing in data reuse, data integrity, and data quality

Preferred Qualifications:

* Previous experience working with customers in positioning Data Architecture & Management Solutions
