We are looking for an individual with a natural ability to understand our client's business questions and use data to quantify and gain knowledge required to answer the questions at hand.

Practical work experience background with database design, SQL development/data extraction, and Excel/Tableau report design will put you ahead of the curve.

A background in computer science and data driven applications is preferred. However, if you are a recent graduate of a program such as Applied Mathematics, Physics, or Management Information Systems, and think you are a good fit, then we'd love to hear from you.

Summary:

A Data Analyst II has the skills, experience, and trustworthiness to work with little oversight. Their responsibility consists of taking ownership of an individual client's satisfaction, developing plans to meet their needs, and executing with the team. They will use technical and business skills to perform independent work on deliverables that include many varied and interrelated tasks, provide timely and accurate responses and mitigation to business requests, and create high client satisfaction through a desire to deliver above and beyond the basics.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The following is a list of general job responsibilities for the Data Analyst II position. This list is not all-inclusive and may be broadened or changed as a result to meet changing business needs.

* Assist in client facing consulting activities necessary for Decisive Data to execute on clients consulting assignments.
* Represent Decisive Data professionally at all times
* Develop ad-hoc queries and reports upon client's request
* Technical
* Show mastery of SQL including optimizing SQL and T-SQL queries, granularity, relationships, and indexes
* Understanding of ETL principles such as meta-driven ETL, table driven business rules, and dimensional modeling
* Shows advanced Power BI skills such as advanced DAX, robust visualizations, and masters Power BI tips and tricks required to wow customers

* Actively partners with clients to learn their business and becomes a trusted advisor
* Takes initiative where appropriate to drive project architecture and responsibility/task assignment
* Independently verify completed work by checking against requirements for thoroughness and robustness.


* Professional
* Demonstrate understanding the broader BI space
* Understand the problem at hand, study possible solutions, and find creative answers
* Mentors junior analysts and is a trusted voice in approach and technique


* Consulting objectives in day to day activities include:
* Report development
* Business rule and business case documentation and tracking
* Requirements gathering for both software development, data integration and business consulting scenarios
* This implies learning from required readings around Business Analyst, Data Analyst and Report/Dashboard Development capabilities


* Additional duties as required including:
* Software and Server configuration for reporting environments
* Office administration and assistance when needed
* Ability assist in office morale and culture events
* Team building and collaboration initiative

* Assist with sales activities


* Some travel may be required



Education/Experience:

* BA Degree
* Minimum two years' experience or equivalent
