Job Description

Job Summary

Gather requirements, produce ad hoc and standard reports as needed, coordinate production of needed reports with key writers. Write reports or develop queries for reports to be automatically run. Work with users to determine most efficient and effective way to utilize data from Banner/SAP using COGNOS, Excel etc.

Oversee entire system life cycle of an e-Commerce solution, using TouchNet's Marketplace uStore for registration and payment collection, to meet needs of business office, accounting and departments across the entire University campus.

Work with departments to identify and analyze data needs for special projects (e.g. Tax Intercept, Summer Calculators, Salary Spreadsheets, Surveys).

Provide end user support and technical assistance for business office staff.

Perform other duties as assigned

Core Competencies

Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills, communication, facilitation and presentation skills. Ability to use ODBC-compliant business intelligence (BI) tools. Ability to work with large complex files. Ability to provide consulting to end user reporting staff. Ability to mentor and transfer knowledge about reporting tool and data. Self motivated, attention to detail, quality focused, team oriented. Ability to manage involvement in multiple projects essential. Ability to build collaborative work relationships among IT, West Lafayette groups, HR, Business Offices and other end user reporting departments.

Education

Bachelor's degree

Experience

Two years of computer programming and/or systems analysis experience with considerable knowledge of reporting query tools, analysis and programming techniques required. Experience using financial or HR data in report generation. Experience should include but not limited to: Oracle, SQL, Business Explorer Suite, Cognos, and strong MS Office User. Systems analysis, system design and use of applications software in mainframe and client/server environments. Purdue University work experience is preferred. Successful completion of the WL Business Service Staff Development Program will be given consideration in lieu of experience.
