Data Analyst

Mission

To ensure that the organization's data asset is monitored, maintained, managed as well as their processing and interactions with different applications and business processes. Data administrator ensures that the entire life cycle of data use and processing is on par with the enterprise's objective by typically creating system conception, logical management of data in which the flow of data is analyzed, data models are created and the relationships among them, ensuring there is a data dictionary to help maintain consistency, avoid redundancy, and model the database so as to make it logical and usable. To turn data into information, information into insight and insight into business decisions by information flowing a timely and secured manager to and from the organization as well as within.

Permanent Assignments

Area of accountability no.1: Enterprise Data & Data Quality Management

Main activities:

* Create and enforce policies for effective data management
* Formulate techniques for quality data collection to ensure adequacy, accuracy and legitimacy of data
* Devise and implement efficient and secure procedures for data handling and analysis with attention to all technical aspects
* Establish rules and procedures for data sharing with upper management, external stakeholders etc.
* Monitor and analyze information and data systems and evaluate their performance to discover ways of enhancing them (new technologies, upgrades etc.)
* Ensure digital databases and archives are protected from security breaches and data losses
* Troubleshoot data-related problems and authorize maintenance or modifications
* Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality
* Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems
* Filter and "clean" data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems
* Work with management to prioritize business and information needs
* Locate and define new process improvement opportunities
* Expected results: To provide the enterprise with Master Data Management process and quality data that can be used for business decision to improve efficiencies and performance.

Area of accountability no.2: Enterprise Data Analysis

Main activities:

* Troubleshoot problems and conduct analysis for efficient program/application solutions to support business processes and functional requirements
* Develop existing systems by analyzing and identifying areas for modification
* Evaluate and make recommendations concerning software additions and upgrades
* Help Data Architecture and Application designs
* Primary source for documentation for all data related activities like data dictionary, list values and other applications dataset
* Help define Database design
* Develop data model describing data elements and how they are used, following procedures and using pen, template, or computer software
* Develop and manage implementation, testing, and training plans
* Performing routine audits of systems and software
* Support others in the daily use of data systems and ensure adherence to legal and company standards
* Assist with reports and data extraction when needed
* Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports
* Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
* Expected results: To provide easy access of quality data to business for their daily decision making process

Area of accountability no.3: Enterprise Business Analysis and QA

Main activities:

* Developing technical solutions to business problems by defining, analyzing and documenting requirements.
* Perform testing on various software and reporting systems
* To continuously improve data quality and usage software products and applications
* To train end users
* Expected results: Effective use of data and systems in the company

Area of accountability no.4: Facilitate compliance support for IT ERP and application to Computer System Validation & QA group.

Main activities:

* Provide support of ERP and application to comply with cGMP regulations related to CSV including CFR 21 Part 11, EU GMP Annex 11 and GAMP standards
* Help with writing, reviewing and executing computer validation documentation ( Validation plan, IQ, OQ, DQ, SOP)
* Supports and/or actively participates in change control, and validation efforts.
* Oversees and/or performs validation testing by executing detailed test scripts on computerized systems.
* Perform regular audit on the validate status of ERP and other GxP applications.
* Expected results: ERP & Other GxP applications are in validated status all the time

Area of accountability no.5: Information Innovation and Support

Main activities:

* Plans, coordinates, and supervises all activities related to the design, development, and implementation of the organization's applications development and analysis function. Manages multiple development teams supporting different lines of businesses. Work closely with clients in order to map and support their operational needs. Responsible for developing, distributing, supporting, enforcing, and integrating best practices and technology standards across the organization.
* Working with the Operations and Business users in coming up with solutions that address the analytics requirement for the company.
* Expected results: Implementation of best of breed solutions for the business users

KNOW-HOW: Job-related skills required to complete activities

* Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
* Ability to solve problems and respond quickly in a fast-paced customer focused environment Analytical & Creative Mind.
* Integrity and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
* IT: Understanding of Scripting & Statistical Languages. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Server, Microsoft Office applications, and associated technologies required. Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Tableau, Business Objects etc), databases (SQL etc), programming (ETL frameworks)
* ERP applications and application development expertise with Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS etc)
* Experience in the development and implementation of an EIS and Executive Dashboards.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills
* IT Business Analysis and QA skill level 4 ~ 5 *
* 1 is beginner and 5 is an expert
* Project Management (Technical) with skill level 1 ~ 3 *
* Change Management with skill level 3 ~ 5 *
* Technical Documentation with skill level 3 ~ 5 *

Optional: Training / Experience necessary to fulfill the job

Educational level or equivalent experience:

Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Technology, Mathematics, Information Management or Statistics or a similarly related degree in IT technology.

A MBA or MS in Information Technology would be an advantage

Demonstrated ongoing progress in IT educational programs and certifications.

Total number of years' experience required to fulfil the role:

12 years' experience supporting business enterprise applications and data management or analysis, Ability to work with large data sets and extrapolate conclusions from large data sets.

Experience working as a Business Analyst and IT QA would be an advantage for the success of this function

Career pre-requisites:

Minimum of 12 to 15 years' experience in a corporate environment with multiple level responsibilities reporting to senior management position.

Implementation /running of Data warehouse and Applications

Experienced in end to end data management - in the area of Data management, Application Data Management, Security and Policy related to data Management.

Context and Environment: main threats and/or opportunities that impact the job; level of autonomy of the job

1. Liaison between Business Operations, Business Development on the business unit with end user reporting capabilities, functionality and data warehouse content.

2. Work closely with the user to define data mapping, transformation validation, cleansing and data access specifications and processes.

3. Full life cycle support of clients' database(s). Responsible for working with DBA for database backups, recoveries, patches, upgrades and performance tuning. Will also be requires to work with developers to design and build new structures to support future enhancements to the applications.
