Responsibilities/Qualification

This opportunity is to support the OSD Joint Assessment & Enabling Capability (JAEC) office. Employees effort provides technical, analytic, program management, and mission support activities for the Joint Assessment & Enabling Capability (JAEC) office as part of the Force Readiness and Training Directorate in ASD (Readiness) / OSD(P&R). This work will be performed at the customer site (on-site).

Provide technical and staff support for the assessment and analysis of DoD training and education policies and capabilities.

Conduct ad hoc qualitative and quantitative research tasks for senior DOD policymakers.

Collect, clean, sort, analyze, and present data from a variety of DOD systems and sources.

Develop, maintain, and analyze metrics that assess military readiness and exercise efficacy.

Directly support senior US policymakers, including but not limited to preparing briefings/read-ahead materials, developing agendas, drafting meeting minutes, attending/supporting meetings, and drafting decision papers.

Qualifications

The Data Analyst/Administrator provides technical and staff support for the assessment and analysis of DoD training and education policies and capabilities. .

Education / Required Experience:

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics, Mathematics or any other related discipline plus 2 to 4 years of experience. Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience.

Strong writing skills. The applicant should be able to communicate information clearly and concisely.

Interpersonal skills. The applicant should be able to work collaboratively within a small team and have the ability to effectively communicate the results of analyses to senior DOD officials.

Familiarity with DOD. Perspective gained from previous experience supporting DOD (in or out of uniform) is valued.

Experience with statistical software, preferably R/RStudio.

Experience with SharePoint and Microsoft Office software.

Experience with data visualization. The applicant should be able to effectively communicate information through charts, graphs, and other displays.
