Overview

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking multiple Cyber Security Systems Engineer's to join our team. You will provide security engineering, assessment, penetration testing, and information system security oversight activities that support complex systems from the perspective of sophisticated threat actors. You will provide technical advice on advanced cyber security and computer processing related technologies and programs, including advanced countermeasure design, development, implementation and assessment vulnerability and penetration testing. You will interact daily with Air Force program managers and industry subject matter experts across multiple domains (air, space, cyber) to assist the government with technical assessments, strategic planning, and engineering evaluations.

Responsibilities

As a Cyber Security Systems Engineer member with MTSI, you will provide security engineering, assessment, penetration testing, and information system security oversight activities that support complex systems from the perspective of sophisticated threat actors. You will provide technical advice on advanced cyber security and computer processing related technologies and programs, including advanced countermeasure design, development, implementation and assessment vulnerability and penetration testing. You will interact daily with Air Force program managers and industry subject matter experts across multiple domains (air, space, cyber) to assist the government with technical assessments, strategic planning, and engineering evaluations. This position will be located in the Washington DC area.

Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to:

* You will provide development support for Red Team software tools.
* Researches and analyzes known hacker methodology, system exploits and vulnerabilities to support Red Team Assessment activities.
* Provides oral and written briefings to senior DoD senior leadership.
* Creates written reports detailing assessment findings and recommendations.

Qualifications

* 8+ years' experience working in cybercrime investigation, malware reverse engineering and other related fields.
* Ability to analyze assembly-level code on multiple platforms (x86, x64, ARM, etc).
* Knowledge of reverse engineering best practices and industry standard methodologies.
* Familiarity with common cryptography algorithms.

Broad knowledge in a variety of programming languages (C/C++, Java, x86 Assembly, JavaScript, etc.).


* Experience defeating anti-reversing tools and techniques (packers, obfuscation, encryption, etc.).


* Familiarity with standard software used in reverse engineering (IDA, WinDbg, VMWare, etc.).


* Cyber systems development and sustainmentNetwork protection, attack, and exploitation.
* Integration and test for DoD & USAF systems.
* DoD, USAF, and interagency information assurance requirements.
* DoD, USAF, and interagency security accreditation procedures.
* Current applicable SAP and SCI information assurance requirements (e.g., JSIG, RMF, JAFAN, etc.).
* DoD and/or USAF Special Access Programs.
* Able to work either independently or in a team to conduct reverse engineering.


* The ability to coordinate, brief, and work with Senior DoD officials.


* Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.



Desired:

* Background in Criminal Investigations a plus (AFOSI, NCIS, or others).

Education Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field (e.g., cybersecurity, computer science, computer engineering).
* Master's degree in an IT-related field (e.g., cybersecurity, computer science, computer engineering) (highly desired)

Professional certifications:

(DoD8570 compliant) - One or more of the following required:

* Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
* Certi
