Basic Function

Solomon, the leading performance improvement company for the global energy industry, is seeking candidates for a Cyber Security Engineer position. The ideal candidate will participate in projects involving design, development and troubleshooting improvements to our security tools, cloud applications and environments. The successful candidate will develop and maintains secure, high-performing and scalable cloud infrastructures and services. The role requires proficient knowledge of Cloud (Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft® Azure). The candidate must have a commitment to collaborating with developers ensure security of cloud platform and applications. The candidate must commit to 15% travel domestically and limited internationally.

Education

Required:

* Bachelor's degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, or applicable field of study

Preferred:

* Master's degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, or applicable field of study
* CompTIA Security+ Certification
* Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
* Certified Cloud Security Specialist, Professional Cloud Security Management, Certified Integrator Secure Cloud Services or similar certifications

Work Experience

Required:

* 3 to 5+ years relevant hands-on experience as a Cloud Engineer, Cloud Systems Administrator, Security Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or in similar roles
* Security Experience with:
* 2+ years programming experience in Golang, Python®, Bash, or in similar roles
* 2+ years programming in C# or other .Net languages
* 1+ year experience with Git CI/CD in a production environment
* History of regular training in security

Technical Skills

Required:

* Amazon Web Services (AWS) security environments and configuration
* Interaction with DevOps
* Secret Management (Vault or tools for storing and controlling tokens, passwords, certificates, etc.)
* Configuration Management (Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Salt or similar)
* Docker or Kubernetes
* Monitoring/Alerting Tooling (Tick, Elk, Nagios®, VictorOps, PagerDuty or similar tools)
* Cloud (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure)
* Cloud Networking (Amazon Web Services, Amazon Virtual Private Cloud, subnets, routing, Cisco Certified Network Associate, or equivalent)

Preferred:

* Agile/Scrum™ experience
* 5+ years of hands on IT Security
