Job Description

The Integrator is responsible for the planning, design, programming and implementation of PLC/HMI based control systems. The Integrator possesses the skills to design, program and commission industrial projects using current technology. This includes system design, PLC programming, HMI programming, system commissioning and industrial communication network implementation.

The Integrator is a proven control systems professional capable of understanding a project's scope, goals, and underlying technical requirements. The Integrator is expected to balance a client's needs and expectations, the project budget and schedule, and the technical execution of the project to consistently achieve technical project success.

The Integrator is a professional, and as such is expected to maintain a current knowledge of the skills required to successfully execute his responsibilities. The Integrator should maintain a current technical skill-set through memberships in technical and industry based organizations, reading trade publications, attending seminars, formal classroom training or any other means necessary. Tangible demonstration of professional development is a requirement at annual reviews.

The role of a Control Systems Integrator III (CSI III) is to be able to complete any size projects from beginning to end without the help of others. The CSI III will also be used as a team or technical lead to help CSI I and CSI II employees learn and become more proficient.

Essential Job Functions

The Integrator is responsible for the following:

* Design control systems through interpretation of customer-supplied control descriptions, interviews with clients and owners, analysis of system mechanical requirements and any other means necessary to create a functional software design.
* Write structured, well-documented, bug-free PLC code in any of the 5 IEC standard languages.
* Design intuitive, easy-to-navigate, aesthetically pleasing HMI interfaces.
* Program clean, professional looking interfaces on a variety of platforms.
* Work with other project team members as needed to successfully share programming responsibilities as required.
* Design software to support thorough, systematic, in-house testing prior to on-site commissioning.
* Thoroughly test system software prior to exposure to the client.
* Provide on-site system commissioning support as required.
* Maintain a current technical skill-set through any means necessary including reading, attending seminars, formal classroom training, project experience, etc.
* Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

* Four year degree or 7 years of successful programming experience
* Ability to quickly understand complex applications
* Competent to expert level PLC programming skills in all IEC standard programming languages
* Thorough understanding of at least one major PLC hardware platform including Rockwell (Allen-Bradley), Modicon, GE or Siemens
* Thorough understanding of at least one major HMI software platform including Wonderware System Platform, Ignition, Rockwell RSView SE or GE Proficy
* Competent oral and written communication skills
* If not already certified, attain Wonderware Certified Developer and Ignition Gold Certified Developer status within first year of employment
