ABOUT THE JOB

Life360 lived and breathed ASO from its early beginnings. However, for the bulk of the company's early existence, we were heavily focused on growing our US user base. As such, our ASO footprint internationally is not as strong as it could be. Where we are consistently a top 10 social networking app in the US, we're only top 20 in many European locales, and top 50 in East Asia. We believe a lot of this is due to a lack of focus on international ASO. In order to test this hypothesis, we would like to bring on an ASO keyword specialist to partner with internal members of the team who have worked on this in the past, to run some tests. The contract will be for one month (10-15 hours a week), but can easily be extended as we prove results. You will be testing changes to the app title, subtitle and hidden keywords on iOS, as well as the title and short description on Android, in the 12 languages for which the app is currently localized. Our international PMM will support the effort and we will pair you with native language speakers for any targeted locale. Also, we will provide you with insights from our Apple Search Ads discovery campaigns, and can provide down funnel behavioral signals per keyword on iOS from our paid acquisition efforts. Finally, you will have access to our keyword rank tracking tools such as Mobile Action or Sensor Tower.

RESPONSIBILITIES

* Evaluate the value of existing keyword metadata on Google Play and iTunes
* Evaluate keyword rankings for competitors in target locales
* Parse keywords provided by the paid acquisition team or suggested by our ASO tools and evaluate if they should be incorporated into our metadata strategy (high volume + low competition, so we can rank in the top 3)
* Submit recommended changes and new keywords to the Growth Product Manager for approval, to be released within our normal sprint cycle (there will likely be at least one opportunity to change our metadata per week)
* Evaluate the outcome and performance of the changes, to see if it increased overall installs and category rank
* Share learnings & results with the Growth team + any relevant execs after completing a few release-cycles of metadata changes

REQUIREMENTS

* Analytical, driven individual who loves finding unique growth opportunities within the app store ecosystem
* Has had direct experience working on app store keyword optimization for iOS or Android (having touched both historically is preferred but experience on just one platform is sufficient)
* Applicants with SEO experience will be considered, but ASO experience is heavily preferred
* Previous experience using ASO tools such as Sensor Tower, App Annie, Mobile Action, etc.
* Experience with targeting keywords for paid search in Adwords (pre-UAC) or Apple Search Ads is a bonus

This contract position can be remote. Pending success, the contract may be extended for additional time.
