Job Description

ClearDATA is looking for a System Administrator - AWS for a 3 month contract to help catch up on large scale AWS Linux and Windows patching needs, and perform joint troubleshooting from AWS downstream patching impacts within Linux and Windows EC2 environments.

This person is an AWS problem solver at heart with a keen ability to solve problems that occur at the intersection between AWS environments and general application system administration. They will have demonstrated experience managing AWS EC2 instances and seasoned experience with large scale Windows and Linux patch deployments; with the ability to triage, collaborate, resolve issues with a 3rd party application team.

This position will be working 2nd or 3rd shifts on 4 day on and 3 day off rotations which includes working the weekends.

The first week will peered with 1st and second shift engineers in person. After the first week remote work will be available.

What Youll Do:

? Collaborate with Customer Success Management Team and Engineering Team to schedule and manage AWS Linux and Windows OS patches and 3rd party application patches, to include end-to-end troubleshooting.

? Review vulnerability scanning output and develop plan to execute patching for AWS Windows and Linux EC2 environments.

? Review AWS environments and document up-stream/down-stream environmental impact, including 3rd party applications.

? If there is application impact, isolate the root cause and make recommendations to enable the patches to be applied to production.

? Most of the effort will be performed ?during patching windows. Those occur off hours.

? Schedule will include Friday, Saturday, Sunday afternoon/night with the other two days being flexible.

What Youll Need:

? Experience in large scale AWS patch remediation with a focus on security/vulnerability research and mitigation

? Strong understanding in reviewing OS and 3rd Party Application vulnerability bulletins/findings and providing impact assessments and mitigation plans.

? Strong knowledge of application architectures.

? Create/update Systems Documentation and Operations Standards / Procedures.

? Perform in-depth analysis on AWS Linux and Windows EC2 architectures to identify, document and mitigate downstream patching impact.

? Monitor, track and report on AWS patch deployment progress.

? Must possess strong customer service attitude and interpersonal skills.

? Impeccable attention to detail, passion for processes and systems.

? Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.

? Proven ability to execute multiple tasks efficiently and effectively.

? Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.

? Demonstrated flexibility, organization, and self-motivation.

? Minimum 2 years experience architecting and administering AWS EC2 environments.

? Minimum 3 years of experience working with large, complex AWS environments.

? Minimum 2 years of experience providing 2nd and 3rd Tier patch remediation.

? Minimum 3 years experience administering large Linux environments.

? Minimum 3 years experience administering Windows enterprise environments.

What Will Make You Stand Out:

? AWS Certified SysOps, Develop or Solutions Architect Associate

? Previous experience patching Linux and Windows EC2 instances.

? Experience managing, tracking and patching Windows and Linux vulnerability scanning results
