Job Description

The College Board, the national educational organization, is conducting a search for a Content Strategist and Editor. This position is based in our New York City office.

The Content Strategist and Editor will improve and organize text and multimedia content on digital platforms for the College and Career Access program, which helps students find opportunities for higher education and beyond. This role helps ensure that College Board content is engaging, focused on users, and consistent with the organization's voice and brand. The strategist also ensures that content is easy to maintain, update, and reuse across a variety of channels and platforms. A major part of the role is contributing to the development of websites and other digital content products. The strategist will work closely with cross-functional teams that include product owners, project managers, designers, researchers, and developers.

What you'll do

* Craft high-level messaging advocating for the needs of students and other users
* Lead content strategy for the end-to-end user experience of digital products
* Define content requirements around business and user needs by working closely with product sponsors, designers, researchers, and engineers
* Write for digital experiences that help users accomplish their goals
* Use data to drive content decisions and the digital user experience
* Conduct content audits and contribute to the creation of content models and usage rules that maintain consistent brand standards
* Contribute to the creation of project plans and information architectures

About you You'll have:

* A bachelor's degree
* Five years of professional experience creating and managing digital content for diverse audiences within a content management system
* A deep understanding of how copy and design support each other
* Experience with Web content management systems, including the technical and workflow issues surrounding large-scale digital projects
* The ability to identify content gaps in a user flow
* Demonstrated project and time management skills, including the ability to accurately gauge project duration, manage expectations, deliver on deadlines, and handle conflicting priorities
* Knowledge of metadata and how it impacts website content and SEO
* Exceptional written communication skills
* A dedication to accuracy, clarity, and attention to detail

* Experience in education-related industries strongly preferred
* Experience with the Drupal CMS strongly preferred
* Familiarity with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines and how to implement their best practices and standards preferred
