Participates in design, development and implementation of systems engineering activities, to include OS technical support, systems programming and data center capabilities. Responsible for components of complex engineering and/or analytical tasks and activities. Assists in establishment of input/output processes and working parameters for hardware compatibility and coordination of subsystems design and integration of total system. Serves as a fully seasoned/proficient technical resource; provides tech knowledge and capabilities as team member and individual contributor. Will not have direct reports but will influence and direct activities of a team related to special initiatives or operations. Provides input on staffing, budget and personnel. Typically 5 or more years of systems engineering experience.
LOB Job Description:
This role will be responsible for the day to day operations of our California Territory data centers which includes:
* Vendor management governance to ensure data center best practices and guidelines are adhered * Review and validation of daily work activities with a focus on risk mitigation * Physical asset management via NLYTE for all devices * Securing, logging and crushing of Disk Drives to satisfy the Disk Security process * Oversight of the Physical decommission process tracking device removal, disk security asset management updates * Quarterly Asset Management and Site Access audits * Daily Data Center walkthroughs to evaluate vendor performance and environmental conditions * Receipt and logging of inbound and outbound shipments
Required Skills:
3 years' experience in the IT industry, specifically relating to data center operations and computer room management.
* Must be familiar with Microsoft Office products. * Ability to work well alone and within a team. * Knowledge of US and International Power design within Data Centers. * Quick learner with ability to adapt to change is very important as this is a fluid environment. * Potential flexible work hours to support weekend for project activity.
