Qualifications:
MINIMUM Requirements: Minimum Bachelor's degree in computer science, applied science, math, or engineering. Minimum 3 years of work or equivalent experience developing and maintaining data systems, developing and implementing scripts, and programming. High proficiency with SQL, SQL server, UNIX, shell scripting, and python are required.
DESIRED Skills: Visual Basic, C, HTML, R, .Net, perl, Meteorological (weather) background or experience developing/administering meteorological data systems or models, NCAR Command Language (NCL).
Responsibilities:
Works with a team to design, develop, and administer data acquisition, processing, and dissemination systems. This involves developing and maintaining scripts, programs, models, algorithms, and processes, using data from disparate sources and sizes. Works with internal clients to customize data solutions specifically to project requirements and needs. Interacts with technical and non-technical clients to resolve analysis and technical issues. Provide on call support for production systems and provide timely solutions. Day-to-day tasks to ensure systems are up and running. Perform system optimization tasks and analysis. Respond to ad-hoc questions and requests. Supports bug fixes, patches, minor enhancements, and disaster recovery exercises.
