SAIC is looking for an experienced Computer Desktop Support technician that can work independently to provide support, troubleshooting, installation and maintenance of individual customer's computers. Daily tasks will include handling network connections, hardware, operating systems and corporate applications support (both commercial and in-house developed). The environment is with primarily Windows based operating systems. This role is responsible for Windows configuration, Internet access, network printing, email and Microsoft Office consulting. Other duties include implementing security policies as required and providing training and technical guidance for fellow workers.


Required Skills:

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or 4 years of additional experience in lieu of degree

* 1 - 3 years of experience providing desktop support in a Windows environment

* Proven experience of having provided the highest quality of customer service in a fast paced IT service environment

* Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines on a variety of activities

* Willingness to learn and continually upgrade technical skills

* Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills

* Experience working in an IT service operation using ITIL best practices and experience managing ticket queue

* Ability to work a deviated work schedule to accommodate customer's schedule

* No clearance is required to start, but must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q security clearance

Desired Skills:

* Strong experience in Windows systems administration (desktop and server)

* Troubleshooting abilities, i.e. system setup, account management, backup/restore, network printers, application installation and peripheral installations

* Ability to effectively collaborate with other IT professionals outside of the work center

* An active DOE L or DOE Q clearance
