Job Description

If so, we're looking for someone like you to join our team at APL.

The Human Performance and Biomechanics Group (R2B) is a seeking a Computational Analyst to provide support in human computational modeling, armor system prediction and evaluation, high-rate experimentation, and data analysis in order to understand human injury mechanisms and develop improved mitigation systems.

As a Computational Analyst you will perform:

1.High-resolution human computational simulations

2.Warfighter armor system evaluations

3.Laboratory testing and data analyses

Qualifications

You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you have...

* Bachelor's degree in Bioengineering or Mechanical engineering with two to five years applicable professional experience in computational modeling (finite element, computational fluid dynamics, fluid-structure interaction)
* Master's degree (Thesis-preferred) in Bioengineering or Mechanical engineering with finite element, computational fluid dynamics, fluid-structure interaction research experience.
* Familiarity with the human anatomy
* Data analyses software skills (MATLAB, Python, C , etc.)
* Experience with experimental design, data acquisition systems, data processing techniques, sensors and instrumentation
* Ability to work as part of a fast-paced team and bring key technical insights and innovations to translational biomechanics research
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Are able to obtain a Secret security clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.

Desired Qualifications:

You'll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you...

* Have specific research experience using LS-DYNA
* Have research experience in high-rate, explosive environments
