Perspecta has an immediate need for a COGNOS Specialist.

Successful candidate needs to be a COGNOS Specialist with Business requirements gathering experience and Cognos Report Studio Experience.

Assist with the deployment, configuration, implementation, engineering, change management, and remedial support of Cognos software applications.

Assist with engineering, implementation, change management, remedial support, and other technical areas of responsibilities for Cognos software applications. These responsibilities include but are not limited to these highlighted below:

* Engineering responsibilities will include the design, development, testing, documentation, packaging, delivery formulation of project plans; scheduling of Technical Exchange Meetings (TEMs); architecting the integration and distribution of Functional Requirements Specifications (FRS) and Concept of Operations (CONOPS).
* Implementation responsibilities relate to customer support involving standard software builds and integration with managed systems and legacy monitoring tools.
* Change Management responsibilities include managing change to a standard software baseline configuration and maintaining a repository of all baseline components (server builds, integration/ monitoring solutions hot fixes, patches and upgrades).
* Remedial support responsibilities include resolution of reproducible discrepancy incidents involving HP software products and addressing product queries.

Candidate Requirements:

* Active TS/SCI clearance with a poly
* Security+ Certification

Nice to have skills:

* Database skills
* System administration skills

advanced technical knowledge to operate one or more technology areas (e.g. server administration, technical security management, performance management) or customer groups that are critical or high-risk. Integrate technical knowledge and business understanding to create superior solutions for company and for customers.

* Incident Management: Resolve single- and cross technology incidents independently. Work with team members to resolve unusually complex or cross technology incidents.
* Escalation Management: identify, manage, and lead escalations through L3. Work with others to help manage escalations through L5.
* Problem Management: Proactively and reactively look for solutions to prevent problems from occurring in team/technology area.
* Change Management/Implementation: Independently review, implement, and verify changes/solutions of high complexity and risk to meet customer and/or trade/company Information Technology infrastructure needs. May lead or participate in a Change Advisory Board.
