We currently have an opportunity for a COB Support Specialist located in the Naperville office. Below is a summary of the role and skills required:

Job Summary:

Coordination of Benefits (COB) is the process of determining which of two or more insurance companies will have the primary responsibility of payment and the extent to which the other policies will contribute to the overall payment. Equian's coordination of benefits product entails the speculative review of members with potential other coverage and to investigate all possible payers. The Coordination of Benefits Support Specialist performs the clerical and administrative tasks in support of the Coordination of Benefits Production Team. Additional support duties include researching clients claims systems, capturing required data, and contacting insurers to obtain coverage details, as well as plan specific rules or language. The principle duties require strong organizational skills and ability to handle a multiple tasks efficiently.

The salary range for this position is based on experience and is around $15 an hour.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

* Ensure timely and accurate completion of Coordination of Benefits projects and tasks
* Analyze member data and history to determine investigation workflows
* Researching member and claims in clients systems to support COB decisions
* Establish communication and rapport with Equian staff
* Timely follow-up on all assigned tasks
* Ability to meet production and quality expectations
* Strong data entry, typing skills and proficiency in the use of a PC, including use of multiple applications simultaneously
* Phone calls to other Insurance Carriers and Medicare
* Ability to take high level direction
* Ability to work multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
* Self-starter, self-directed, ability to work independently with minimal oversight
* Desire to make an impact, manage multiple tasks and shift priorities quickly

Responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, verbally or in writing.

Qualifications:

* Interpersonal Skills: Competency in nonverbal, oral and written communication; ability to identify, define and explain day-to-day problems and solutions.
* Leadership and Skill: No supervision responsibility. Strong computer skills with experience in Microsoft Word and Excel. Proven ability to work under high production and quality standards.
* Innovation: Ability to learn and adapt to various client systems
* Responsibility: Direct, but closely supervised, impact on quality and efficiency of services operation of company or venues/expenses. Policies and procedures govern activities. Decisions on all but the most basic problems/issues are subject to prior approval by supervisor.

Education and Experience:

* Associates degree or credit toward a Bachelors degree preferred
* Coordination of benefits or related healthcare claims payment experience preferred
* Proficiency in MS Office products such as Excel and Word
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
