CM Build Software Engineer

Job Description

Centuria Corporation is seeking a highly motivated CM Build Software Engineer to support the Advanced Weather Interactive Processing System (AWIPS) program using Git in a configuration management context. Candidate must be experienced in branch management (merging, tagging, etc as well as branch management theory) within git, and using git as a repository management tool.

Candidate will have the opportunity to provide software and system support aimed at operational maintenance of the AWIPS system for the National Weather Service. Candidate will experience and learn a multitude of technologies, helping to support and evolve an advanced, FOSS based, Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) / Enterprise Bus (ESB) serving the needs of the American public.

Education Requirements:

* Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)

Required Skills:

* 2+ years practical experience with Git in a configuration management context
* Experience with branch management (merging, tagging, etc as well as branch management theory) within git, and using git as a repository management tool.
* Practical experience with Linux and bash
* MUST BE A US CITIZEN!
* Ability to obtain a public trust clearance.

Desired Skills:

* Familiarity with one or more of the following Configuration Management tools: Gerrit, Jenkins, Redmine.
* Experience working within an rpm based Linux distribution (e.g. Red Hat, CentOS, Fedora)
* Experience with build management tools (make, ant, etc)
* Familiarity with how to build Red Hat Package Manager (rpm) packages
* Experience maintaining and updating technical documentation.
* Familiarity with building C/++ and Java software via command line or Eclipse (ANT) as well as automated build processes via Jenkins.
