We are building a world-class delivery function within Deloitte's global CTO organization that will guide member firms as they build critical systems on public cloud infrastructure. We are seeking a Cloud Solution Architect. Our Cloud Solution Architects are responsible for leading the strategy formulation and architectural design of these complex cloud initiatives. These leadership roles require collaborating with executive-level business and technology leaders as well as developers, DevOps engineers, and system and infrastructure engineers across business, functional, and geographic boundaries.

Essential Skills

Expert knowledge and deep experience of the Azure, AWS, and/or GCP cloud platforms, technologies, and use cases. Strong knowledge of common security and compliance practices. Broad knowledge of enterprise systems in general and cloud and Internet technologies in particular, and the ongoing development of both. Proven ability and experience in systems analysis and cloud/hybrid architectures. Able to consultatively and strategically architect cloud-based systems to support strategic goals.

Ability to lead and develop a team if called upon. Strong attention to detail with the ability to drive architectural and engineering thinking. Ability to pair analytical and problem-solving skills to make design trade-offs to make cloud solutions scalable and maintainable. Extraordinary writing, editing, communication, and interpersonal skills; able to clearly articulate ideas in writing for executive-level consumption as well as for technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Will collaborate with stakeholders to consultatively achieve strategic business goals through architecting and designing key components of enterprise-scale cloud solutions. Must be comfortable leading the execution of tasks on multiple, cross-functional, complex projects.

Must be able to work with executive leadership to help align stakeholder needs and demand with the Deloitte Cloud Services platform roadmap and overall hosting strategy. Must be willing to work closely with strategic partners (e.g., Microsoft, Amazon, Google) to maximize our relationships, which could entail partner training and other activities. Must be capable of working in a self-directed manner with minimal guidance in order to provide current and forward-looking consultation on cloud technologies. Must have the confidence and technical expertise to architect large and strategic cloud and hybrid solutions, which will often involve solving for complex requirements in time-sensitive situations.

Education

Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or other technical or scientific field. Master's degree preferred.

Certification

A certification in at least one cloud platform preferred (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert, GCP Cloud Platform Professional).

Experience

Minimum of 15 years of experience working with large, enterprise systems running complex and sophisticated workloads in a secure and compliant manner, with recent experience with cloud architecture and public could infrastructures.

* Proven experience with large-scale globally distributed systems.


* Proven technology leader across cloud, data, infrastructure, and APIs.


* Proven experience as an architect, delivering, and supporting highly available and performant systems.


* Large systems software design and development experience.


* Understanding or experience with a plurality of the following: cloud-native systems, distributed and parallel systems, and security.


* Must have a reasoned opinion about designing and running microservices-based workloads, including the use of serverless infrastructures.


* Detailed experience with Azure, AWS, and/or GCP. Experience with Alibaba Cloud a definite plus.


* Strong experience with the cloud stack (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).


* Experience with cloud vendor native cost management platforms. Including rightsizing and reserved instance evaluations.


* Experience with policies and controls governance, using cloud vendor native tools (e.g., Azure Policy, AWS Service Control Policies) for large scale organizations.


* Ability to travel, as needed.
