The Cloud Security Engineer reports to the Manager of Network Engineering. This position is responsible for the delivery of solutions for all security solutions as it relates to a local network, WAN, and firewall solutions. This position will ensure that the security systems are properly planned, installed, configured, secured, and maintained. The candidate will develop, document, and implement best practices and standards. The individual will work closely with the business IT, planning, engineering, and operations teams to create solutions that scale and can be leveraged and supported broadly for a fast-growing company. The candidate will provide technical leadership and work on multiple projects or issues of high complexity that require in-depth knowledge of multiple technical areas.

People or Process Management Responsibility: wide latitude in determining objectives and approaches in critical assignments

Job Role:

* Oversee the engineering of network security infrastructure: firewalls, proxies, WAN connectivity, CASB, cloud network, and cloud security.
* Responsible for receiving policy from the Enterprise Security team, translating policies into technical rulesets which can then be installed into Reyes security systems.
* Responsible for the technical day-to-day operations of the network security solutions including work prioritization, incident, problem and change management.
* Responsible for maintaining policies, procedures and training plans for network security technologies.
* Work closely with IT Security team to ensure overall security requirements of network connectivity are achieved.
* Implement and maintain network security best practices by assessing current threats, vulnerabilities, risks, and associated technical countermeasures
* Responsible for the technical solution architecture specific to network security infrastructure and its alignment with Enterprise Architecture roadmaps.
* Work with the architecture and engineering teams to implement, design, and perform configuration changes.
* Develop and implement hardware and software standards in conjunction with architecture teams.
* Help develop, design, set and maintain hardware refresh process including plan and scope, development, and budgeting.
* Manage vendor maintenance and support agreements to ensure support, response, and escalation
* Works closely with Managed Service Providers to ensure they are delivering effective and efficient services based on contract terms.

Required Skills and Experience:

* Minimum of 5 year's experience with network and security planning, design, and implementing mission-critical LAN, WAN, network security, and wireless network infrastructures;
* Minimum of 1-year experience with 24 x 7 support leadership in conjunction with a managed service provider;
* Minimum of 1-year of Hands-on and working knowledge and experience with firewalls, proxies, routers, switches, and WAN connectivity;
* Minimum of 1-year of Hands on experience with setting up networks and network security within Microsoft Azure;
* Experience with medium to large enterprises with multiple remote locations;
* Ability to understand enterprise security requirements, develop designs and solutions that align and meet requirements for the IT and business roadmaps;
* Experience working with application owners and other IT stakeholders to build and support the most efficient and stable security capabilities;
* Strong ability to clearly document system design elements including the use of appropriate documentation tools;
* Must be able to demonstrate excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in previously mentioned areas;
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical subjects to non-technical audiences;
* Ability to work extended hours or weekends as necessary;
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and Visio;
* This position must pass a post-offer background and drug test.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

* Certifications: CCNP, CCVP, or CCIE, Palo Alto
* Cisco ACI and VXLan and SDWan networking
* Working knowledge of WAN technologies including but not limited to MPLS, DMVPN, IPSECandSDWAN.
* Working knowledge of SIEM systems and procedures
* Security features of load balancing technologies

Education:

Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent IT experience.
