Responsibilities

Aerospace's Cyber Defense Solutions Department is looking for a Cloud Security Engineer to help design, implement, assess and deploy cyber solutions that defend our nation's most valuable assets in space. We support a variety of customers including the Space Missile Center (SMC), National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), and other civil customers (e.g. NASA), and they all face incredible challenges in protecting their ground networks and satellite systems. We are seeking a highly motivated engineer with cloud security experience who enjoys solving real-world security problems and is interested in applying their expertise to facilitate the secure deployment of cloud systems.

This role can be located at our office in Chantilly, VA or Greenbelt, MD.

Key Functions:

* Assist in the secure architecture, deployment, operation, monitoring and defense of cloud systems and environments
* Aid in the design, development and test of custom tools to bolster the security of cloud-based and cloud-native systems
* Supply expertise at technical exchange meetings, reviews and briefings to Aerospace, customer and contractor personnel

This position is available as a Cloud Security Engineer or a Senior Cloud Security Engineer.

Qualifications

Required for Cloud Security Engineer

* B.S or higher in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or other technical area of study from a recognized institution
* Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance issued by the U.S government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance
* 2 or more years of experience with the secure design and deployment of systems using Amazon Web Services (AWS) (ideally in the context of GovCloud and C2S)
* 2 or more years of experience with AWS security services, including: Identity Access Management (IAM), CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Key Management System (KMS), and/or Inspector
* 2 or more years of experience designing, developing and/or deploying security tools and technologies for cloud architectures
* High degree of comfort using containerization technology, minimally including Docker and Kubernetes
* Proficient with one or more of the following: C/C++, Java, JavaScript, Python

Required for Sr. Cloud Security Engineer

* B.S or higher in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or other technical area of study from a recognized institution
* Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance issued by the U.S government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance
* 5 or more years of experience with the secure design and deployment of systems using Amazon Web Services (AWS) (ideally in the context of GovCloud and C2S)
* 5 or more years of experience with AWS security services, including: Identity Access Management (IAM), CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Key Management System (KMS), and/or Inspector
* 5 or more years of experience designing, developing and/or deploying security tools and technologies for cloud architectures

Preferred

* Advanced degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security or Computer Engineering or other technical area of study
* Experience with space systems, including familiarity with space, ground and user segments, as well as legacy software
* Proficient with OpenStack, Google Cloud Platform, Azure and/or IBM Cloud
* Experience configuring and deploying service meshes
* Familiarity with hardening *nix and Windows systems
* Experience securing cloud native applications
* Familiarity with implementing the NIST Risk Management Framework
* Certifications: CCSK, CCSS, CCSP, OSCP, CEH, CISSP, Security+
