Cloud Security Engineer

Key Role:

Design, develop, and recommend integrated security system solutions that will ensure proprietary and confidential data and systems are protected. Provide technical engineering services for the support of integrated security systems and solutions. Interface with the client in the strategic design process to translate security and business requirements into technical designs. Configure and validate secure systems and test security products and systems to detect security weaknesses. Conduct regular audits to ensure that systems are being operated securely and computer security policies and procedures are being implemented as defined in security plans. Prepare materials for computer security education and awareness programs. Respond to queries and requests for computer security information and reports and provide work leadership to junior employees.

Basic Qualifications:

* 7 years of experience with administering, implementing, and supporting complex enterprise or government IT systems or networks
* Experience in working with AWS or Azure in production environments
* Experience with designing and implementing network security solutions, including firewalls, intrusion detection, encryption, monitoring, vulnerability scanning, and authentication
* Experience with administering Linux and Windows servers
* Experience with deploying and administering Web application firewalls, IPS and IDS, and next generation firewalls
* Experience with deploying and administering Splunk or other SIEM tools, McAfee ePO or other host-based security tools, and Tenable Nessus or other vulnerability scanning tools
* Knowledge of TCP/IP networking concepts and technologies
* Ability to automate the provisioning and configuration of Cloud-based environments
* Ability to obtain a security clearance
* HS diploma or GED

Additional Qualifications:

* Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
* Experience with securing Hortonworks and Databricks platforms
* Experience with conducting or supporting Authority-to-Operate (ATO) activities
* Knowledge of federal IT and Cloud security policies, including FISMA, FedRAMP, or NIST 800
* BA or BS degree in CS or a related field
