Job Summary Job Description Cloud Engineering - Lead Engineer, AWS FICO has an opportunity for a Cloud Engineering - Lead Engineer, AWS at our facility in San Diego, California. The primary duty of the Cloud Engineering - Lead Engineer, AWS is to engage with product teams to provide expert advice on migrating existing products into an Amazon Web Services (AWS) environment and on building new solutions and products within AWS. The AWS Team is responsible for providing expert advice and assistance in design and delivery of FICO's solutions within an AWS platform. This comprises both migration of existing products, as well as development of new products within a cloud platform environment. The team also covers platform engineering and platform support within AWS and engineering and operation of shared services. Specific duties include: 1) ensure AWS engineering solutions are taking advantage of AWS-specific capability; 2) apply knowledge of AWS Services and functionality including knowledge of the benefits and limitations of AWS services to create associated best practice and standards; 3) design and implement product solutions within an AWS environment, including design for scalability, redundancy, security and self-healing; 4) provide AWS operational guidance, both internally to the team, and for external operations teams to ensure the environment is built in a manner that can be supported operationally with zero downtime; 5) develop automation, code, tools, and policies to deploy or maintain applications and systems across a large enterprise environment using technologies such as Puppet, Jenkins, Terraform, CloudFormations and CI/CD tools; 6) design and maintain an appropriate AWS shared Infrastructure component, specifically in creating a highly scalable, redundant environment and set of services that are available 24x7 and managed with zero downtime; 7) ensure all requirements from the business, including compliance and security requirements, are met or exceeded in building a secure environment; 8) investigate and provide feedback on new AWS services and solutions and provide guidance to management on adoption of these services; 9) understanding the requirements that products have on the underlying infrastructure such that product design can support portability of products to different cloud environments; 10) provide operational support for enterprise environments within AWS including traditional infrastructure support (review logs, troubleshoot issues, etc.) as well as more cloud specific operational technologies (cost analysis and optimization, review of scaling policies); and 11) provide guidance on delivering AWS solutions that deliver cross platform compatibility. This position requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Software Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related technology field, plus five (5) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in computer systems configuration and implementation. Must also have three (3) years of experience (which may have been gained concurrently) with each of the following: 1) designing and implementing product solutions within an AWS environment, including design for scalability, redundancy, security and self-healing; 2) designing and implementing a secure support infrastructure within AWS that meets security requirements and that is available 24x7 with zero downtime; 3) developing automation, code, tools, and policies to deploy or maintain applications and systems across a large enterprise environment using technologies including Puppet, Jenkins, and CloudFormations; 4) AWS Services and functionality including knowledge of the benefits and limitations of AWS services to create associated best practice and standards; 5) investigating and providing feedback on new AWS services and solutions and providing guidance to management on adoption of these services; and 6) understanding the requirements that products have on the underlying infrastructure such that product design can support portability of products to different cloud environments.
