Scrum Master, Claims IT - Strategic Programs

The Role:

As a Scrum Master on the Claims Digital Transformation team, you'll be part of an agile squad supporting multiple large scale claims transformation related initiatives. Our team focuses on new development specifically, building digital/Omni channel solutions to enable capabilities supporting intake of claims and processing all the way through payment. The Scrum Master will be responsible for planning, coaching the team on agile best practices, team cohesion, managing logistical challenges, removing impediments, and helping the team to be successful. The Scrum Master must collaborate with Product Owners, other scrum masters, the team, technologists, architects, and other teams to define and drive solutions.

Responsibilities:

* Primary focus is on driving the tactical day-to-day technical product delivery process, including removing impediments that kill productivity or block the team's progress
* Facilitate Scrum events: Sprint Planning, Sprint Review, Sprint Retrospective, Daily Standups, etc.
* Continually refine and evolve Agile processes with a goal of predictable software delivery
* Protect the team from distractions and coordinate with Project Managers to remove impediment
* Support the program & stakeholders - Ensures clear communication and organization of all team objectives / roadmap / work in process using electronic and physical information radiators, using agile charts and Key performance Indicators, where appropriate.
* Build/maintain dashboards and ensure quality while maintaining stories in Jira
* Coordinate with other Project & Program managers, engineering, and product leads to identify and manage cross-team dependencies
* Lead and coordinate cross- Create project outlines and timelines and distribute responsibilities to team members and follow-up to ensure on-time completion
* Communication - Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate in writing and verbally with technical and non-technical audiences, including persuasion and negotiation skills to resolve differences with skill and understanding
* Coach the Team - Act as a servant-leader for the team and guide them in their agile journey; challenge team to see how agile values / principles can be applied to situations and decisions to the benefit of customers. Shape team behavior through excellent management via the agile method
* Build strong relationships with stakeholders, application users, and program owners

Minimum Qualifications:

* Bachelor's Degree in Business, Computer Science, or related technical discipline
* Generally 8 years of relevant experience
* Strong knowledge of Agile principles and concepts (especially Scrum)
* General knowledge of scaled agile (SAFe, LeSS)
* Knowledge in Insurance/Claims Domain preferred
* Working knowledge of Agile tools (Jira, Confluence) required
* Displays strong communication, organizational, analytical, critical thinking, and team building skills. Advanced presentation, influencing, and relationship management skills
* Proactive, consistently demonstrates initiative to take ownership of resolving issues and gaps
* Strong knowledge of IT concepts, strategies, methodologies, architectures and technical standards
* The ability to expose requirements through detail questions and propose alternate solutions options is critical.
