Chief Software Engineer

Job Description

The Chief Software Engineer position will provide senior level support as a full time as the lead Sr. Software Developer on a DNI program. This position reports to the Engility/NIA/NGA-ODNI Program Manager (I-PM), and supports the on-site government Program Manager (gov-PM). The primary functions of the resource will include:

* Provide leadership in managing the team of Software Developer. This includes, but limited to:
* Coding Standards
* Development practices
* Task assignments
* Peer reviews setup, implementation, monitoring, and analysis
* Coaching and mentoring more junior developers


* Maintain existing Software Applications
* Develop and maintain new Software Applications
* Develop and maintain all documentation: requirements, design, code, test procedures and scenarios, user guides, etc.…
* Participate in any and all Review Boards as the Software Engineering voice
* Interface with support organizations: CM, QA, Security, etc…
* Interface with System Architect, System Administrators.
* Implement all security directive from program ISSO
* Support Operations Duties as surge support to the operations team as required by the gov-PM
* Support the deployment of all required SW upgrades and SW patches as directed.
* Perform trade analysis and COTS product evaluation as directed
* Support Process Improvement initiatives as applicable and directed.
* Report and coordinate all activities, including but not limited to client discussions and meetings with other contractors or Government customers.
* Support the gov-PM and Deputy gov-PM as well as the I-PM in maintaining a cohesive and integrated team environment, as well as other duties as requested.
* Provide a written weekly status report by COB each Wednesday to the I-PM (free format), documenting the salient points of the previous week, and any major plans or events in the upcoming 30 days.
* Support the I-PM in the IRIS project re-competition capture activities.
