Who you are:

The Cyber Technology Product Line within FAST Labs is seeking individuals with a high level of self-initiative as a Chief Scientist to lead and grow our research and development portfolios in technologies that secure next-generation cyber technologies while sustaining high performance.

Duties of this position include:

Oversee the execution of R&D portfolio. Deconstruct complex challenges into a research plan that extends the state-of-the-art. Work with government partners, internal research staff, management and academic partners to execute the research plan despite aggressive deadlines and shifting priorities.

Direct the technical work of engineers and researchers spanning multiple disciplines. Continue to grow our research base through marketing and proposal writing. Identify emerging trends and assemble the research expertise necessary to address customer challenges.

Work closely with government technologies as a trusted advisor to ensure effective investment of the government's limited budget. Support the growth of BAE Systems' intellectual property base through the development of patents and trade-secrets. Collaborate with BAE Systems' business areas to cultivate technology transition and develop next-generation product capabilities.

Set future strategic direction and concept shaping through technology roadmaps. Build broad support through partnerships, IR&D investment, and cooperation with military leadership. Advance our research expertise and reputation. Work with CT leadership to recruit lead researchers and develop new technical staff. Participate in conference and journals to advance the current state-of-the-art. Mentor junior staff while also working with leadership to create a culture of innovation.
