Job Description

Reporting to the Enterprise PMO & Change Management team within the Business Innovation Office, the Change Management Program Manager will drive program activities for business processes, technology and people related changes. This key role will focus on increasing employee and organization adoption to ensure program business objectives are achieved while minimizing organization impacts and disruptions.

The program manager will manage cross organization engagement and collaboration across all business functions and at all levels of the organization with an emphasis on the people side of change. Partnering with a program sponsor, the program manager is responsible for managing the change management plan, tracking issues, risks, and ensuring deliverables are completed. Also, communicating program actions, information, and status is another critical responsibility of the program manager.

The role is highly visible requiring extensive executive interaction as well as advanced organization, management and communication skills given the varied nature of the programs and stakeholders involved. Facilitating discussions to identify, analyze and resolve issues and drive required actions and deliverables are critical to being successful in this role.

Given the dynamic nature of Workday and the diverse, extensive reach of the Business Innovation Office, the program manager must always be looking forward, anticipating different alternatives and options to support the program in our ever-changing environment. In parallel, the program manager must always be evaluating and gathering input and feedback to adjust and improve in flight programs.

The program manager will help refine and evangelize the Workday Enterprise Change Enablement framework and be an advocate for change management across the company. This includes defining and building the change management framework processes, tools, templates, and training. The individual in this role will focus on maintaining the assets of the framework, ensuring consistency and usability, and be responsible for communicating availability of new methods, tools and training, as well as tracking usage metrics.

Key Responsibilities

* Develop change management strategies and plans including an assessment of risk, readiness and resistance.
* Ensure sponsorship from leaders such as creating core principles for change initiatives.
* Systematically identify, plan, and implement actions designed to engage with stakeholders.
* Define the most effective training approach to educate and transfer knowledge/skills.
* Build and manage change networks of change champions to drive awareness, understanding, commitment and adoption for the change.
* Develop the communications strategy expressing the goals and methods for communicating changes along with the key messages and level of information needed for target audiences identified.
* Create overarching branding and a change campaign to coalesce support behind a change and appeal to the target audience.
* Develop clear and compelling content targeted to audiences.
* Assess the most effective communications channels and vehicles to convey key messages.
* Ensure alignment to a common goal and the scope of change.
* Articulate clear roles and responsibilities, and drive accountability.
* Enable structures for promoting engagement and ownership of the change.
* Communicate and enforce a standard process for decision making.
* Leverage collaboration tools (e.g. Zoom, Slack) to collaborate and drive the change forward.
* Determine the feedback and metrics to measure adoption, satisfaction, and ongoing program needs/success based on specific goals and objectives
* Optimize processes and drive ongoing efficiencies.
* Define methods to sustain behaviors and reinforce the changes.
* Identify deviations from performance expectations and implement strategies for corrective action.
* Assist in the ongoing development of the change management framework developing content, tools, templates, processes and content.

Minimum Qualifications

* BS or MBA in Business, Technology, General Management
* Experience and knowledge of change management principles, practices, methodologies and tools
* 8+ years change management track record managing highly visible large-scale change initiatives
* 8+ years of project/program management experience
* Software industry experience with an enterprise products company a plus
* Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with staff, colleagues and cross-functional teams and third parties.
* Excellent listening and communication skills
* Ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of stakeholders and audiences
* Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships at all levels of the organization, and strong track record influencing at all levels
* Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations
* Resilient and tenacious with a propensity to persevere
* Forward looking with a holistic approach to solutions
* Highly organized and detail oriented with a natural inclination for planning strategy and tactics
* Problem solving and root cause identification skills
* Strong team player and ability to work collaboratively with and through others
* Expertise with collaboration tools (G Suite, Zoom, Slack and Smartsheet)
* Acute business acumen and understanding of organizational issues and challenges
* Change management certification or designation desired (e.g. Prosci, CCMP)
