Job Description

CannonDesign has an exciting opportunity for a Certified Access Specialist (CASp) Reviewer based in our Irvine, CA office. This will be a part-time position (20 hours per week). We are an integrated global A/E/C firm that unites a dynamic team of architects, engineers, constructors, strategists, futurists, researchers, and industry specialists driven by a singular goal - to help solve our clients' and society's greatest challenges. The successful candidate will conduct field reviews of buildings and surrounding sites for accessibility compliance with CASp standards. Primary responsibilities will include: Perform field accessibility reviews of onsite buildings, common areas and parking lots and evaluate for compliance with applicable construction-related accessibility codes and ADA standards.Conduct reviews using construction documents, automated survey checklists, evaluation software or other field based survey tools to collect information.Prepare a CASp report identifying any non-compliant items and recommendations.Assist with the development of an implementation schedule with management along with a timeline for completion of improvements toward property compliance. Qualified candidates must have 15+ years of CASp review experience and current CASp certification with expiration after 2020. Must have no formal complaints under DSA 607 and no record of CASp suspension. Licensed California Architect or Engineer is preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present to clients is a must. Skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.
