Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field or equivalent experience is required plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus 6 years of relevant experience.

Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities for this Position

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Docker Container-as-a-Service (CaaS) Systems Administrator. This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's core defense/intelligence services and systems. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:

Provide input on design and architecture of CaaS service using Docker enterprise across multiple on-prem data-centers and cloud service providers

Provide ongoing support and maintenance of the Docker Enterprise CaaS implementation

Maintain and Develop Docker images/containers for different technology stack

Setting up and managing Docker private registry

Knowledge of Docker Enterprise edition (Docker EE)

Hands-on experience with Containers Orchestration - Docker Swarm/Kubernetes

Creating Docker File to create custom Docker images

Good knowledge on DevSecOps CI/CD tools / processes and Linux/Windows skills

Hands-on experience with Docker enterprise edition

Responsible for managing the functionality and efficiency of a multi-cluster group of Docker nodes running on one or more operating systemsMaintains the integrity and security of nodes and systems in each of the on-prem clusters and those at various cloud service providersServes as a front line interface to users with technical issues with the CaaS serviceMakes recommendations for hardware and software purchase to run the container infrastructureInteracts with third-party technology vendors and internal database staffConducts systems analysis and development to keep systems current with changing technologies Duties may include installing new software, troubleshooting, granting permissions to applications and training users The CaaS System Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day support of services supporting our cloud and CaaS strategiesPerforms node administration in support of Docker Enterprise or other similar container management systemsPerforms some light administration of physical and virtualized servers on case by case basisResponsible for the configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of CaaS servers that supportConfigures, maintains and troubleshoots network related interfaces for Containers running in the servicePerforms OS and vendor software patching on images maintained in the on-prem private image registry (Docker Trusted Registry)Monitors Container / App performance using monitoring tools Performs, maintains, troubleshoots and does analysis of alerts on nodes and containersCreates scripts to automate repetitive processes

Designs, builds, maintains continuous integration / continuous deployment pipeline (CI/CD)Work with internal customers to identify, isolate, and resolve problems with the CaaS service that are effecting other products and servicesContributes and executes plans, designs, and implements necessary configurations to ensure compliance with back-up and disaster recovery policies, procedures for CaaSExecutes and maintains Security Compliancy processes and policiesDevelops and maintains CaaS related standards, policies, and proceduresMentor team in the technology to allow them to be more knowledgably and self-sufficientReviews and analyzes performance metrics in order to optimize environment for efficienciesImplements administration of nodes, containers, and apps using industry standard technologies Implements administration of servers in lab environments that are physical and virtualized using industry standard technologiesResearches and troubleshoots CaaS technical issues and communicates status to GDMS team and stakeholdersLeads medium sized continuous process improvement efforts

CompSci or similar degree

Required:

RHEL Linux OS, Windows Server 2016+ and Docker Enterprise technology knowledge

Desired:

Git, GitLab, Team Foundation Server and DevSecOps tools knowledge
