Software Engineer

The Broadcom Datacom team in Plano, Texas develops leading high-performance mainframe database technology driving some of the world's largest banks, insurance companies, retailers and more. Our technology supports high-demand applications that must run 24x7 with little or no downtime. What You'll Do

* Research and develop innovative new solutions that will help to shape the future direction of Broadcom.
* Work within a scrum team in an agile development environment, with an opportunity to gain exposure to many of the key agile roles.
* Design and code database functionality for enterprise-level products that meet functional and business requirements.
* Participate in design and code reviews with other engineers.
* Participate in test plan reviews and develop automated test scripts to deliver high quality software solutions.

What You Need

* Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development.
* BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent degree.
* Prior experience as a developer in a Scrum team.
* Experience with mainframe programming languages - Assembler and/or C
* Experience working in mainframe environments - zOS, TSO, JCL.

Additional skills that will benefit your efforts

* Expertise with Java, Linux, Javascript, Angular.
* Expertise with unit testing frameworks.
