Job Description

Job Summary

The Business Systems Analyst will be responsible for managing incidents, problems, new projects, changes and configurations pertaining to American Claims Management claims system (SIMS). This person will be work closely with business users and product owners to develop business requirements and translate them into the functional requirements for the Development team using the company's agile framework. Additionally, the Business Systems Analyst will be required to conduct in depth user acceptance and quality assurance testing.

In this role, the successful candidate will possess technical, business and strong people skills to play a key role as subject matter expert for their applications.

Responsibilities:

* Perform root cause analysis and diagnostics for application incidents and maintain ownership of the final resolution
* Perform application configuration management and participate in pre and post release activities.
* Perform necessary functionality and performance tests to ensure proper functionality of developed solutions
* Coordinate troubleshooting activities with vendor IT, client IT and internal IT.
* Write concise and effective user stories with precise and accurate acceptance criteria that will be used by development, quality assurance and product owner to ensure that stakeholder and product owner intent is effectively captured and developed.
* Interpret customer business needs and translate them into technical requirements in stories.
* Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.
* Work closely with Development, DBA, and Infrastructure teams for faster resolution.
* Create SOPs for various parts of IT operations.

Required Skills

* A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or Healthcare.
* Proficiency with writing basic SQL code and ability to interpret complicated SQL routines.
* Strong troubleshooting and SQL query performance optimization skills.
* Experience performing end-user interviews, leading requirements gathering sessions, and User Acceptance Testing.
* Familiarity with iterative project and development methodologies (release cycles).
* Ability to work in a dynamic team environment, and to interact with resources from technical and non-technical organizations.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred:

* Strong familiarity with the insurance industry and specifically claims processes and protocols.
