Job Description

The Business Support Specialist - M&A is responsible for supporting a team of Brokers by completing system policy updates, understanding and processing insurance billings.

The Role

The Business Support Specialist - M&A is responsible for creating certificates of insurance forms and various reports in an accurate and timely manner, and following written or oral instructions. Operates in-house insurance account management computer system and word processing equipment to compile, type, revise, combine, edit, print, and store documents. This includes researching insurance information and providing customer service to field offices, clients and carriers.

Responsibilities:

* Reads and understands insurance documents for policy updates and billings
* Processes billings including endorsements, audits, cancellations, extensions, new accounts, renewals, reports and fees
* Records, stores, and maintains accounting information in either written form or by electronic filing system.
* Researches account information to complete accounting activities related to billing and communicates that information to brokers and clients
* May generate account statements, reports and other records and handle paperwork and perform day-to-day administrative tasks.
* Reconcile/Resolve outages to the Ledger caused by the billing process.

The Requirements

* 3-5 years' experience; Associate's or Bachelor degree preferred
* Experience generating account statements, reports and other records and handle paperwork and perform day-to-day administrative tasks
* Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
* Experience supporting multiple mid-level and senior level professionals
* Ability to work in a fast- paced environment
* Extremely organized with exceptional attention to detail
* Strong sense of personal responsibility and urgency
* Ability to review binders and endorsements for accuracy
* Ability to balance competing priorities in a high pressure environment.
* Flexibility to work with a range of communication styles and attention to detail
* Able to execute detailed and changing protocols with speed and accuracy
* Ability to carry out complex tasks with many concrete and abstract variables
* Ability to exercise independent judgment
* Open to learning new systems
* Ability to communicate directions to others clearly and accurately
* Flexibility with work schedule during peak times
