Job Description:

Description: The Business Intelligence Specialist is responsible for acquiring and maintaining knowledge of the Epic Clarity Database & SQL for their assigned Epic module. This role is also responsible for combining hospital and ambulatory clinical and operational knowledge with information technology experience to develop business intelligence reports and dashboards for customers. Responsible for gathering requirements from hospital and ambulatory executives, specifications, designing and developing solutions, testing, validation and testing, implementation and ongoing support of business intelligence solutions and dashboard.

Typical Duties:

* Analyzes and completes business intelligence report and dashboard requests and provides support for assigned Epic applications and systems under guidance from management.
* Designs and develops database, business intelligence reports and dashboard using SQL and stored procedures.
* Performs report code changes related to upgrades and vendor related fixes and notifications for Epic Workbench Reports and Epic Clarity report.
* Knowledge and understanding of Epic EMR workflows for hospital and ambulatory setting to ensure report pull data reflecting operations.
* Participates as a team member in selected projects under guidance from management.
* Performs testing and data validation for reports and dashboard delivering accurate reports and solutions.
* Modifies existing reports and creates additional basic reports as required.
* Ensures deliverables are approved by the appropriate users and are completed and obtain end-users sign-off on reporting deliverables.
* Reviews and ensures final product for accuracy and completeness meeting management expectations.
* Follows communication and project documentation standards and processes.
* Ensures report match to actual business needs within the context of new and existing workflows and applications.
* Performs analysis of end-user report requirements to understand the reporting need.
* Validates the report with the end-user and ensures end-user knows how to access the report.
* Independently takes ownership of tasks and performs all other job related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience:
* Bachelor Degree in Information Technology or a related field of study from an accredited college or university.
* 2 plus years of IT relational database SQL reporting experience.
Preferred Education and Experience:
* Successfully completed the Microsoft Querying Microsoft SQL Server 2012/2014 Exam (70-461)
* 4 plus years of related experience in a healthcare environment.
* 4 Plus years Epic Clarity experience.
Required Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:
* Must obtain current proficiency or certification in assigned data model(s). (i.e.) Epic certification in appropriate module(s) required within specified time frame following class completion and analyst who support Epic modules must maintain certification on current version of Epic.
