What you'll do on a typical day:

* Proposes and leads discussions of business intelligence solutions and reporting tools, by studying information needs, conferring with users, studying system flows, data usage, work processes, investigating problem areas, and following the development lifecycle
* Reviews and recommends changes for operational feasibility of BI and reporting tools by evaluating analysis, requirements, system constraints, solution development, and proposed solutions.
* Leads review of architects and developers to ensure user requirements are captured, sustained and scalable
* Contributor to user interface and system communication, design and implementation
* Utilizes scalable approaches such as unit testing, integration testing, and system level testing in support of QA team
* Responsible for development of the design SOP's in compliance with relevant standards and validation
* Leads development optimization for reporting tools thru modeling, simulation and analysis
* Implements and reviews ETL processes using Microsoft SSIS
* Build reporting and BI tools in a Microsoft SQL Server environment (including SQL Server Analysis Services)
* Design and implement data models and solicit feedback on operational impact

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you'll need:

* Some background education in computer science or engineering
* 5 or more years of development experience with SQL Server
* 3 or more years of experience in SQL Server performance tuning and query monitoring
* Advanced experience in relational data modeling
* Advanced experience in T-SQL
* Advanced experience with SSIS
* 3-5 years of SQL Server administration experience in a clustered environment and replication
* Exposure to Microsoft SSAS and data warehouse design

* BE or MS in computer science or electrical engineering
