About Amazon

Job Description

Amazon recently launched Amazon Business. It is a new marketplace on Amazon that combines the selection, convenience and value customers have come to know and love from Amazon, with new features and unique benefits tailored to business buyers. Amazon Business provides easy access to hundreds of millions of products - everything from IT and lab equipment to education and food service supplies - as well as business-only selection and pricing. Amazon Business represents an incredible opportunity to address a vast new market segment and customer base and is an area of high interest for Amazon. As a result, we have formed a dedicated team to oversee business payments.

The Amazon Business Payments team manages Business Payment methods and products globally. These payment methods and products are growing rapidly and we are continuously adding new market-leading features and launching new products.

The Role

Are you passionate about leveraging data to deliver actionable insights that impacts the daily business decisions at Amazon? Does the prospect of dealing with massive volumes of data excite you? Do you like getting "scrappy" with data to answer challenging product and customer behavior questions?

The team designs and builds credit decision logic so that Business Buyers can be adequately risk-screened for invoicing credit lines, and builds tools to monitor ongoing performance and update credit lines. This work requires accurate prediction models to determine who we should approve for credit as well as accurate causal models to understand the impact of policy changes and product engagement on customer behavior.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, relishes working with large transaction volumes and big data, enjoys the challenge of highly complex business contexts (that are typically being defined in real-time), and, above all else, is a passionate about data and analytics. In this role you will be expected to work with business leaders to understand the problems they need to solve and design the appropriate solution. You will need to collect new data in order to produce 360 degree views of our customers, analyze the results, form strategic opinions, and then publish the data out to all interested teams. Often times, the ideal set of data will not be available and you'll have to think creatively about what is available in order to drive results.
