Amazon.com's Display Advertising Server team builds and manages high performance systems with high availability. We serve billions of requests every day with the ambition to grow that number by several orders of magnitude under a strict SLA (less than 100ms latency). Our systems generate hundreds of terabytes of event data a day (and growing) and we are investing in building greenfield systems to mine and process our data at scale.
As a Business Intelligence engineer on the team, you will be on the cutting edge of investigating and implementing mechanisms and solutions to derive rich insights from our vast data sets to inform the business, drive growth, and operational excellence, while continuing to raise the bar for our customers.
Roles and Responsibilities
* Develop a deep understanding of Amazon.com Advertising's vast data sources and know exactly how, when, and which data to use to solve particular business problems. * Define analytical approaches and metrics strategies to uncover new insights and add business value. * Use business intelligence and visualization software to empower internal customers to drive their own analytics and reporting. Analyze usage data to derive new insights and fuel customer success. * Support the development of performance dashboards that encompass key metrics to be reviewed with senior leadership. * Work with business owners to build data sets that answer their specific business questions. * Proactively identify problems and opportunities and perform root cause analysis/diagnosis leading to significant business impact. * Manage numerous requests concurrently and strategically, prioritizing when necessary.
