Job Description
The Business Intelligence Developer II is responsible for becoming a key player in various reporting initiatives in support of key business strategies. The individual will participate in maintaining various internal and external reports primarily in a Microsoft environment. The person will be responsible for adhering to our agile processes, producing quality artifacts and managing reports through the entire development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
* Work with business users to gather the requirements and translate business needs to technical specifications.
* Contribute to evaluation of BI platforms, development of BI strategies in Technology and Business Units.
* Design, build, and deploy BI solutions.
* Collaborate closely with other teams to integrate systems.
* Present information through reports and visualization using various presentation tools including SSRS, Tableau, Exel, PowerBI, and SharePoint.
* Maintain and support data analytics platforms.
* Conduct unit testing and troubleshooting.
Education & Experience
* Bachelor's degree required in engineering, data science, computer science or related field.
* 5+ years' related experience.
* Education and/or experience in data science and big data a plus.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
* Strong technical skills in SSRS, T-SQL, SSIS, and presentation tools such as Excel, CSV, Sharepoint, Tableau.
* Solid knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and Reporting Services (SSRS).
* Deep TSQL development skills including stored procedures.
* Experience with report subscriptions.
* Professional experience building, deploying and being accountable for SSRS reports.
* Deep knowledge of ETL and associated transformation processes.
* Experience in an agile environment, working with a standardized task ingestion process.
* Scrappy and resourceful in deploying innovative solutions for various clients.
* Comfortable servicing the needs of many varied internal and external clients.
* Comfortable ingesting data from a variety of legacy platforms.
* Excellent communication skills w/ the ability to communicate to broad audiences.
* Experience with Master Data Management a plus.
* Experience in managing and deploying reports to an instance.
* Experience manipulating reports through .NET API a plus.
Business Travel
* Position requires minimal to no travel.
Physical Requirements
Sedentary work involves remaining in a stationary position most of the time in front of a computer, using a keyboard, mouse and telephone. Regularly operate a computer and other office equipment. Occasionally move about the work site to access file cabinets, office equipment, etc. Exert up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or regularly move objects. Communicate and exchange information with co-workers and other individuals in person and electronically.
