JOB SUMMARY:

The Business Intelligence Developer's role is to work with company stakeholders to define, build, test and deploy BI solutions using BI tools. This includes developing SQL database views and tables, working with BI tools such as Microsoft Power BI and uplifting current Crystal reports into Power BI solutions. The BI Developer will also develop functional and technical reporting documentation and provide training to end users.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Collaborate with the business to create and manage BI and analytics solutions that turn data into knowledge
Design, build and deploy BI solutions (e.g. reporting tools)
Translate business needs to technical specifications
Create visualizations and reports for requested projects
Develop and execute database objects
Conduct unit testing and troubleshooting
Verify report accuracy
Evaluate and improve existing BI systems
Develop and update technical documentation
All other duties as assigned

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

On-call availability may be required occasionally.
Overtime hours may be required to meet project deadlines.
Sitting for extended periods of time.
Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other devices.
Able to lift computer drives, monitors, and other peripherals.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

Indoor office environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field required
2 years' experience creating PowerBI solutions
Strong background in data and business analysis
Proven experience as a BI Developer or Data Scientist
Prior experience with traditional reporting tools such as Crystal Reports
Experience with relational databases (Oracle/PLSQL, MySQL, SQL Server)
Expert at creating and understanding complex Database SQL queries and views
Background in data warehouse design (e.g. dimensional modeling) and data mining
In-depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework
Experience with ERP systems and processes
Experience with IFS ERP and/or Microsoft Dynamics is a plus
Proven abilities to take initiative and be innovative
Flexible and adaptable to learning and understanding new technologies
Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
Highly self-motivated and directed
Keen attention to detail
Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Must have a valid driver license and abide by our Corporate Fleet Policy
Ability to successfully complete all pre-employment testing required by Holland L.P.
