What you'll be doing...

You'll be helping us bring the best possible experience to our customers by using your analytics expertise to ensure the Verizon network is the best performing network in the world. You will help us figure out how to get the most accurate information and insights from all kinds of data that tell us what, where, and how the network is performing, so we know where to focus.

* Partnering with others across the business to build models, prototypes, and new approaches for analyzing network behavior.
* Finding, cleaning, and organizing data from the network
* Building triggers, alarms, and machine learning models on network behavior
* Designing experiments to confirm our assumptions and answer our questions.
* Designing creative approaches to uncover the biggest opportunities for cost and time savings.

What we're looking for...

You're a creative thinker who likes to explore, and uncover the issues. You are decisive. You are great at influencing up, down, and across groups, and you take satisfaction in mentoring others. Communicating what you've uncovered in a way that can be easily understood by others is one of your strengths. You are detail-oriented and know how to focus on what really matters. You understand the importance of accuracy in data analytics. You are a self-starter and a multitasker who can work independently under tight timelines. You want to make an impact by providing the data that will help improve the experience of our customers.

You'll need to have:

* Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
* Four or more years of relevant work experience.
* Experience with Python, R or MatLab, and SQL.
* Experience with applied statistics including regression models.
* Developed machine learning models.

Even better if you have:

* A degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
* Experience with data or transport networks.
* Experience with Tableau, Splunk, or similar visual analysis tool, optimization, analytics and large data sets, project management, developing visually compelling interactive dashboards.
* Experience with Python, R or MatLab, and SQL.
* Experience with applied statistics including regression models.
* Developed machine learning models.
