Business Intelligence Analyst

How you'll make a difference?

Identifies business intelligence, reporting, and data analysis needs. Works closely with customers to turn data into critical information and knowledge that can be used to make sound business decisions. Educates and trains customers to use available BI & Reporting tools.

What will your Duties and Responsibilities be?

* Works with internal and external customers and IT to gather and validate requirements.
* Accountable for the understanding of how data is turned into information and knowledge and how that knowledge supports and enables key business processes.
* Provides development support for various BI outputs such as dashboards, reports and other ad-hoc data requests.
* Participates in or supports work-stream planning process.
* Develops and writes business requirements for the design of BI solutions.

What Skills and Experience will you need?

* Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business Management or equivalent work experience.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Excellent problem solving skills
* Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and collaborative team environment
* Experience working with internal customers on the development of report requirement documents
* Demonstrated critical thinking skills
* Advanced experience with MS Excel or similar tool
* Experience using query functions in a relational database preferred
* Experience in collecting, interpreting, and analyzing data
* Analytical skills with the ability to apply creative solutions to complex problems
* Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of prioritizing and focusing on responsibilities
* Solid knowledge around database concepts, data models, schema design, etc.
* Basic SQL skills

What Skills and Experience would be helpful?

* Business Analysis or related technical experience
* Management Consulting experience
* Experience with Cognos, BusinessObjects, Tableau, Qlik or other data analytics tool
* Experience in SQL performance monitoring and optimization preferred
* Data warehouse experience
* Experience with cloud based Business Intelligence reporting
